Elon Musk fires 90% of Twitter employees in India, saying app is too slow
Since the billionaire Elon Musk gained control of Twitter, he and the remaining staff have been working nonstop to provide the finest experience possible. Musk thinks that several nations, particularly India and Indonesia, experience very slow Twitter speeds. The Twitter CEO wants to resolve the problem quickly.

Musk offered users an apology earlier this week for the Twitter app’s “slow” performance in some areas compared to others. “I want to apologise for how slowly Twitter is in many countries. Just to show a home timeline, the app executes more than 1000 badly batched RPCs! “In one of his most recent tweets, he remarked.
Some Twitter employees disagreed with Musk’s judgment that he and his team are striving to speed up the platform, however Musk claimed that they are. The billionaire apparently doesn’t want to hear recommendations or criticism since he dismissed engineers for criticizing Musk on Twitter. Additionally, Musk terminated numerous workers for criticizing him in private Slack groups.
According to Musk, the Twitter app is now not operating as it should in various countries, including India. According to him, Twitter updates in the US take roughly two seconds as opposed to between ten and twenty seconds in India. Musk said that in some regions of the world, it takes Twitter 30 seconds to reload. He thinks “poor batching/verbose communications” may be to blame for the slowness.
“Twitter is very slow in India, Indonesia & many other countries. This is a fact, not a “claim”. 10 to 15 secs to refresh homeline tweets is common. Sometimes, it doesn’t work at all, especially on Android phones. The only question is how much delay is due to bandwidth/latency/app,” Musk tweeted.
In response to Meta CTO Mike Schroepfer’s criticism of Musk’s claim that there were “1200 RPCs,” Musk stated that “there are around 1200 “microservices” server side, of which approximately 40 are vital to Twitter operating at all, according to server control team.” “Trimming down that 1200 figure, decreasing data use, serializsd trips & simplifying app are all needed to enhance speed of use,” Musk wrote in another tweet.
Musk has asked staff to report back to work and put in 40 hours per week since he has huge changes planned for Twitter. Musk has eliminated the work from home policy at Twitter, unless there is an exemption, just like he did at Tesla.
