The largest iPhone production facility for Apple is coming up close to Bengaluru
A new Apple iPhone manufacturing plant will be built near Bengaluru and employ around 60,000 people, said Telecom and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Vaishnaw said at the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas event that 6,000 tribal women from Ranchi and Hazaribagh had been taught to make iPhones. He stated that Apple’s iPhone is now being manufactured in India, with the company’s largest facility in the country being built in Hosur, near Bengaluru.
“A single factory employs 60,000 employees. Our tribal sisters from Ranchi and Hazaribagh make up the first 6,000 of these 60,000 employees. Tribal sisters were trained to manufacture Apple iPhones “said the minister.
Tata Electronics, which operates a facility in Hosur, has been contracted by Apple to manufacture iPhone enclosures. iPhones are produced in India by electronics giants – Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron.
It was reported by Reuters last week that Apple supplier Foxconn planned to hire 53,000 additional workers over the next two years to boost its workforce in southern India to 70,000. Foxconn established a manufacturing facility in India in 2019 and began producing the iPhone 14 this year.
JP Morgan stated in September that Apple was seeking for methods to shift approximately 5% of iPhone 14 production to India, the world’s second-largest smartphone market after China. The decision comes as Apple reduces its production on China due to rising geopolitical tensions and a tight Covid lockdown policy.
Apple CEO Tim Cook stated on a July earnings call that while the June quarter had record growth in the Americas, Europe, and the rest of Asia Pacific, Apple’s revenue in India nearly doubled.
