In 2014, Shantanu Naidu received his degree from Pune University. He began working at the Tata group as a design engineer after receiving a degree in mechanical engineering. He came across a dead dog lying in the middle of the road one evening as he was making his way home from work.

“I was aware that I needed to take action. So I made a call to some pals and devised a collar with reflectors so that vehicles could see the dog from a distance. Shantanu Naidu told Humans of Bombay, “The next day, we went around and put these collars on the stray dogs.

“I wasn’t sure if it would work, but the next morning, I awoke to a message informing me that a dog had been saved thanks to the collar. It felt fantastic!

After being mentioned in the newsletter of the Tata group of companies, Naidu’s effort gained prominence. Demand for the dog collars quickly increased, but he was low on cash. His father made a suggestion at this point that would forever alter his life. My father requested that I write a letter to Ratan Tata because he too loves dogs. At first, I hesitated, but then I thought, “Why not?” So I wrote him a letter by hand and promptly forgot about it, said Naidu.

A signed letter from the well-known industrialist requesting a meeting with the young employee was delivered to Naidu two months later. Tata and Naidu first spoke at his Mumbai office. Tata showed him his dogs and promised to finance his plan to make dog collars.

Naidu soon left India to attend Cornell University for his MBA. He told Humans of Bombay, “But I promised him that once I finished, I would devote my life to working for the Tata Trust… and he enthusiastically accepted my plea.

He claimed that shortly after arriving back in India, Tata called him and stated, “I have a lot of work in my office. Would you like to help me out?

“I wasn’t sure how to respond. I inhaled deeply and then said, “Yeah!” after a short while. said Naidu.

From July 2018, Naidu has been employed at Ratan Tata’s office as the deputy general manager.

“People my age struggle to locate the ideal group of friends, a suitable mentor, and a suitable type of boss. But I can hardly believe my good fortune in finding all of these people in Mr. Ratan Tata, a superhuman. Although he goes by the name Boss with affection, I like to refer to him as the “Millennial Dumbledore” because I believe that name best describes him.

Tata and Shantanu Naidu appeared in a popular video when Shantanu Naidu celebrated his 84th birthday. For his boss’ birthday, Naidu sang a happy birthday song, gave him a pat on the back, and gave him cake.
