Elon Musk wants any coder who can help after 1200 software engineers left Twitter
Nearly 1200 software engineers left Twitter last week after Elon Musk fired thousands of employees. After Musk sent them an ultimatum email asking them to be ready for a “hardcore” culture at work, these engineers quit the company. In the mail, the billionaire asked employees whether they were ready for a hard-core work culture and to work 80 hours a week. As a result of Musk’s demand, many engineers voluntarily left the firm with a three-month pay package. Musk is now looking for anyone in the company who has coding skills.

He sent an email asking if there are “anyone who actually writes software” and asked them to meet him. In one of the emails he sent to Twitter employees on Friday, he writes that people who actually code software report to the 10th floor at 2 pm. The Twitter boss further asked these coders to “email a bullet point summary of what your code commands have achieved in the past ~6 months, along with up to 10 screenshots of the most salient lines of code” to him.
He also asked that these developers “send a bullet point explanation of what your code commands have done in the last 6 months, along with up to 10 screenshots of the most prominent lines of code” to him.
Musk stated in another email, “If you work remotely, please email the request below and I will try to speak with you by video. Only individuals who are unable to physically go to Twitter’s headquarters or who have a family emergency are excused. These will be quick technical interviews designed to help me better grasp the Twitter tech stack.” “If at all possible, I would like it if you could go to SF and be present in person. I’ll be in Twitter HQ till midnight and then returning early the next morning “Another email was sent by Musk.
According to a recent story, Musk is considering firing additional staff today. Employees on the sales and partnership sides of the firm may be targeted at this time. The layoffs have not yet been formally acknowledged by the corporation.
Until date, Musk has dismissed half of his global employees, followed by 4000 contract workers. He also asked those who were critical of him to quit the organization. For instance, Musk publicly dismissed a Twitter engineer for responding to him with facts. Former Twitter programmer Eric Frohnhoefer fought with Musk on Twitter after the billionaire claimed, “Twitter is sluggish in many places.” “I have spent 6 years working on Twitter for Android and can tell this is unacceptable,” he stated. Frohnhoefer was sacked minutes afterwards, and Musk revealed it on the microblogging site.
