Use WhatsApp to download your Aadhar and Pan card

WhatsApp has evolved into more than just a messaging app, with the app constantly improving its features. It is used for online purchasing, payment processing, and communication with businesses and governments. You can use WhatsApp to access citizen services such as checking your Aadhaar or PAN via a variety of government websites. But did you know that you can also use WhatsApp to download your PAN and Aadhaar card?

Use WhatsApp to download your Aadhar and Pan card

The Indian government’s e-governance platform, MyGov Helpdesk, created a WhatsApp chatbot to facilitate access to various services. One of them is the ability to download Aadhaar and PAN cards. Instead of having to go through the official websites to get your cards, the chatbot is easily accessible. However, one small criterion must be met.

Your Aadhaar and PAN data should have been saved in DigiLocker, India’s official digital wallet. Install DigiLocker on your iOS or Android device and log in with the registered mobile number. Locate Aadhaar and PAN services and connect them to DigiLocker for easy access.

Then, follow the below steps:

  • Open WhatsApp.
  • Save 9013151515 in your contacts.
  • Send Hello to the number.
  • Choose Digilocker option.
  • Select Yes
  • Type your Aadhar number.
  • Type the OTP sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Click on the Aadhar and Pan card options.

The chatbot will now send you the same documents in PDF format.
